Billing that does not wait for the internet

Offline billing software for restaurants that keeps the counter open

Offline billing software for restaurants lets you keep making bills and KOTs when the internet drops, and catches up on its own when it returns. In EETS Partner, every bill and kitchen ticket is saved on the device first and synced to all your other devices once the connection is back. A Saturday night outage becomes a non-event at the counter.

Why billing without internet still matters in India

Cloud billing is convenient until the router restarts in the middle of dinner. In many Indian restaurants the connection is fine most of the day and then fails at the worst time: a power cut that takes the router down, a weak signal in a basement kitchen, a mobile data pack that ran out. If your billing needs the internet for every bill, the counter stops and the queue grows.

We have been through this at our own restaurant in Bengaluru. That is why EETS was designed the other way round: the device does the work first, and the internet is used to share it. In our offline billing software for restaurants, billing without internet is not a special mode you switch on. It is simply how every bill is made.

How offline billing works in EETS

Here is what happens on a typical night when the connection drops and then returns. Nothing in these steps needs your staff to press a special button.

  1. The internet goes down. The counter keeps making GST bills, and each bill and KOT is saved on the device where it was made.

  2. Bills print on your Bluetooth thermal printer as usual, since the printer talks to the phone directly over Bluetooth.

  3. When the connection returns, the saved bills and KOTs sync to every other device on your account: the counter, the kitchen display, captain phones and the owner's phone.

  4. Your takings, reports and day close then include everything from the offline period.

What works offline, and what needs a connection

Being honest about this saves you a surprise on a busy night. Most of the restaurant keeps going without internet, but not everything.

  • Works offline: counter billing

GST bills with your GSTIN, CGST and SGST split, discounts, split payments and round-off are all saved on the device first.

  • Works offline: KOTs and printing

Kitchen tickets are saved on the device, and printing on a paired Bluetooth printer does not depend on the internet.

  • Syncs later: other devices

Orders made on one phone reach the other phones and the kitchen display once the connection is back.

  • Needs internet: QR ordering

Guests ordering from their own phone need the internet, because the order travels from their phone to yours.

  • Needs internet: live owner view

The owner's phone shows takings and staff activity live from anywhere, so it updates once the restaurant's devices sync.

Offline POS in India: desktop software or a phone app

For years, the answer to unreliable internet was desktop billing software installed on one PC. It works offline, but only on that one PC. The bills live on its hard disk, captains cannot add to them from the floor, and the owner cannot see anything from home. Desktop billing software in India typically costs ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 one-time, plus a yearly maintenance charge, and often needs an installer visit.

An offline POS in India no longer has to mean that trade-off. EETS works offline on every device, not just one, and syncs when online so the whole team shares one picture. Your data is stored in India, in Mumbai, encrypted in transit and at rest, so the bills are not trapped on a single computer that might fail. You can export your data whenever you want.

Choosing offline billing software for restaurants: a checklist

Before you choose offline billing software for restaurants, test it the way the night will test it. Turn off the Wi-Fi in the middle of a demo and keep billing. Ask these questions.

  • Does every device work offline?

Or only the main counter? Captains and the kitchen should not go blind when the router does.

  • Does it sync by itself?

Staff should not have to export, upload or press a sync button when the connection is back.

  • Is anything lost or doubled?

Check that bills made offline appear once, with the right numbers, in reports and the day close.

  • Does it need special hardware?

Offline should not mean a dedicated PC. In EETS, any Android phone or tablet on Android 8.0 or later saves its own bills first.

Questions

Questions owners ask

Can I make restaurant bills without internet?

Yes. With EETS Partner, every bill and KOT is saved on the device first, so your counter keeps billing through an outage. Bills print on Bluetooth thermal printers as usual. When the connection is back, everything syncs to your other devices and appears in your reports and day close. Only guest QR ordering needs the internet.

What happens to bills made offline when the internet comes back?

They sync automatically to every other device on your account, including the counter, kitchen display, captain phones and the owner's phone. Your staff do not need to press anything. Takings, reports and the day close then include the bills made while you were offline, so your numbers for the day are complete.

Does QR ordering work offline?

No. QR ordering needs the internet, because the order is placed on the guest's own phone and has to travel to your restaurant's devices. If your connection is down, take orders the usual way and bill at the counter, which keeps working offline. QR orders resume once the connection is back.

Is offline POS software safer than cloud software?

Each has a weakness. Desktop offline software keeps your bills on one PC, which can fail or be lost. Online-only software stops when the internet does. EETS saves on the device first and syncs to servers in India, in Mumbai, encrypted in transit and at rest, so you get offline working and a copy off the premises.

Do I need a computer for offline billing?

No. EETS runs on Android phones and tablets on Android 8.0 or later, and on Android POS machines that print via Bluetooth. Any ESC/POS Bluetooth thermal printer with 58 mm or 80 mm paper works. A Windows and web dashboard is coming soon, but you do not need a computer to bill today.

Will a slow internet connection slow down billing?

No. Because each bill is saved on the device first, the counter does not wait for the network before the bill is ready. A slow or patchy connection only affects how quickly other devices and the owner's phone see new bills, and everything syncs when the connection settles. QR ordering from guests' phones is the part that suffers on a poor connection.

How much does offline billing software for restaurants cost with EETS?

Offline billing is part of every plan, not an add-on. Café costs ₹2,999 a year, Restaurant ₹3,999 and Restaurant Max ₹4,999. Every plan starts with 6 months free. If you pay on or before 31 December 2026, you get 18 months for the price of 12, which brings the Restaurant plan to about ₹167 a month.
